The Annals of the Italian Institute of Numismatics are among the most important numismatic periodicals printed in Italy. Founded in 1954 by Laura Breglia, then President of the Institute, as the organ of the scientific life of the institution, they collect scientific contributions in Italian, but also French, English, Spanish, German. The authors of the articles are qualified numismatists belonging to the world of universities, museums, superintendencies, research institutions, both Italian and foreign. The interests of the magazine embrace all aspects of numismatics, from the prehistory of money to its subsequent developments up to the modern age, from the documentation of finds to metrology, metallographic analyses, economic history. The history of the collections and their cataloguing, the history of numismatic studies are also included. The contributions are distributed in a section of "Studies and Documents" and one of "Insights, Comments, Reviews and News". The volumes close with the "Report on the activities of the Italian Institute of Numismatics", which reports on the initiatives carried out or in progress, on the new editions and on the publications received.
